Thanks to the prosecutor's office, illegal disposal from communal property was prevented 22 premises of educational institutions

The Uman District Prosecutor's Office has prevented the illegal removal of 22 premises of former educational institutions from communal ownership. These include 9 schools, 10 kindergartens, as well as an educational complex, a swimming pool, and a boiler house. The total value of the property exceeds UAH 470 million.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, one of the city councils in the Uman district illegally classified the specified premises as objects to be privatized in 2024. This contradicted the direct legislative prohibition on the alienation of property belonging to educational institutions and created a risk of its loss for the community.

In order to protect the interests of the state and the community, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit.

As a result of the measures taken by the Prosecutor's Office, the council was forced to exclude all educational property from the list of privatization objects.

Thus, thanks to the intervention of the Prosecutor's Office, the community preserved educational premises that can continue to be used for the needs of children and residents of the district.
