An international scientific-practical conference "The Public Prosecution of Ukraine in conditions of European integration" was held

With the purpose of complex analysis of process of reforming of bodies of Prosecutor's office of Ukraine in conditions of European integration and the development of suggestions for improvement on May,19 2016 the Reforms Department initiated and held at the National Academy of prosecution of Ukraine an international scientific-practical conference.
 
Representatives of international organizations, prosecutors, judges, employees of other law-enforcement bodies, educational establishments and scientific institutions, as well as lawyers, social experts and other specialists, attended the event.

Ivan Prysiazhniuk, the rector of the Academy, and Roman Hovda, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, opened the conference with a salutatory word to the participants, in which they outlined the range of problems of modern stage of reformation of the Prosecutor's office and encouraged the participants of the conference to fruitful cooperation.

The international experts provided a significant contribution to the work of the conference. Great interest of the audience was raised by the report of the representative of the Directorate on Human Rights of the Council of Europe Tatiana Termachich about the role of professional training of prosecutors in reform of the prosecution. The chief expert of the EU Project "Support to justice sector reforms in Ukraine" Loïc Guerin highlighted actual problems of management in the Prosecutor's office.
 
The Chairman of the Advisory mission of the EU in Ukraine Kęstutis Lančinskas shared the experience of improving management processes in the public authorities of the European Union member states. In addition, the representative of the German Foundation for international legal cooperation Walter Zelter noted the features of the legal status of the Prosecutor's office of Germany in the system of law enforcement and judicial authorities.

The Reforms Department of PGO performed the active participation in the organization and work of the conference. In particular, the acting head of the Department Eugene Chernikov informed the conference participants about the current state of the reformation of the system and outlined the problem issues that require urgent solutions. Also, the Reforms Department prepared abstracts on topical issues of reforming of Prosecutor's office, in particular, regarding a secret test of integrity of prosecutors, assessment of competence and professional activities of prosecutors.

The participants of the conference expressed their readiness for fruitful cooperation on the creation of the prosecutorial system, which will meet European standards, ensure rule of law and respect the rights and freedoms of the individual.
