The Reforms Department of PGO continues cooperation with scholars and practitioners in the field of further reforms implementation
On April 15, the Ukrainian scientific-practical conference "Problems of prosecution reforming" was held in Kharkiv at the Yaroslav the Wise National Law University of Ukraine. The event was dedicated to the discussion of existing legal and practical problems of proper implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Public Prosecution" and taking the necessary measures for the effective reform of the prosecutorial system of Ukraine.
The representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, regional prosecutors’ offices, the National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine, Yaroslav the Wise National Law University of Ukraine and other leading law higher education institutions, attended the conference. In addition, the conference was attended by representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine and the European Union project "Support to justice sector reforms in Ukraine", who spoke at the plenary session with presentations on further prosecution reform’s steps and European standards in this area.
Anton Ovcharenko, the representative of the Reforms Department of PGO, made a report on the topic: "Criteria for evaluating the performance of prosecutors". The report highlighted the international experience of using evaluation criteria for prosecutors’ performance, emphasizing the relevance and importance of a balanced and deliberated approach in the introduction of quality evaluation of prosecutors in Ukraine. In addition, participants were informed about the interest of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine in fruitful cooperation with academic and practitioners on system reforming.
