Statistical data on local prosecutors' offices reform

 
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine and five specially selected regional interview commissions within the defined terms and in compliance with the requirements under par. 51 of Transitional provisions of the Law of Ukraine On the Public Prosecutor’s Office ensured execution of transparent contest procedure of staff complementing of administrative positions, positions of prosecutors and public officers of newly created local prosecutor’s offices.
Competitive selection in line with the provisions of Law of Ukraine On the Public Prosecutor’s Office did not take place only in 23 local prosecutor’s offices on the temporarily occupied territories (in 8 local prosecutor’s offices in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in 15 local prosecutor’s offices in Donetsk (9) and Luhansk (6) regions, territorial jurisdiction of which covers territories within the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone).

- in general, from 60 external candidates recommended by the contest commissions for administrative positions of first deputy head and deputy head positions for local prosecutor’s offices 22 persons i.e. 36,7 % were appointed to the positions (one candidate refused the appointment in view of inappropriate remuneration conditions);
- 562 heads of city, district, city district and inter-district prosecutors offices took part in the contest from 638 staff persons, of which 107 candidates were appointed upon the results of the competitive selection to the positions of heads of local prosecutor’s offices (i.e. as a result of lower level prosecutor’s offices reform, only 19% from the total number of acting local prosecutors were appointed);
 
- 512 acting first deputy and deputy heads of local prosecutors took part in the contest  from the total number of 515 staff persons, of which 26 candidates were appointed upon the results of the competitive selection to the positions of heads of local prosecutor’s offices (i.e. as a result of lower level prosecutor’s offices reform, only 5% from the total number of candidates of this category were appointed).
