Ruslan Riaboshapka has been appointed as the Prosecutor General
On August 29, 2019, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the Decree on the appointment of Ruslan Riaboshapka as the Prosecutor General.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine seconded the Resolution on granting consent for the appointment of Ruslan Riaboshapka to the post of the Prosecutor General. 312 people’s deputies of Ukraine voted in favour of the decision.
Ruslan Heorhiiovych Riaboshapka was born in 1976. He graduated from the International Solomon University with a degree in Law.
He started his career in 1998 as a chief adviser. Since October of that year, he worked in senior positions in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. In 2010, he transferred to the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Since 2013, he was engaged in the analysis of anti-corruption policy in Transparency International Ukraine (the non-governmental organization). In 2014, he held the position of the Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine. Since 2016, he was a member of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention.
On May 21, 2019, pursuant to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, he was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine. On June 25, 2019, pursuant to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, he was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
