Deputy Prosecutor General Anzhela Stryzhevska took part in the final conference on the official completion of the Council of Europe project "Continued Support to the Criminal Justice Reform in Ukraine"

On June 13, 2019, a final conference was held in Kyiv on the occasion of the official completion of the project "Continued Support to the Criminal Justice Reform in Ukraine " (hereinafter - the Project), which have been implemented by the Council of Europe from 2015 and funded by the Government of Denmark. This project became one of the largest projects of bilateral cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine and the Council of Europe, and, among other things, was aimed at supporting the reform of the prosecutor's offices of Ukraine in accordance with European standards and best practices.

Deputy Prosecutor General Anzhela Stryzhevska and employees of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine who were involved in the implementation of the tasks provided for by the Project attended the event. During the conference, Anzhela Stryzhevska outlined the main legal and institutional changes that took place in the prosecutor's office of Ukraine after the adoption of the new Law of Ukraine "On Prosecutor's Office". The Deputy Prosecutor General paid special attention to liquidating the "supervisory" powers of the prosecutor, depriving of the function of pre-trial investigation, formation of the General Inspectorate, prosecutorial self-governance bodies, the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Public Prosecutors, and organizing evaluation of the PGO.

She also noted that, for the first time, the PGO, in cooperation with the European Union and the Council of Europe, has developed a comprehensive reform program (Road Map for Reforms) and implements a system for evaluating the individual work of the prosecutor.
