The delegation of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, headed by Yurii Lutsenko, visited Strasbourg (French Republic)
On December 17, 2018, a delegation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine headed by Yurii Lutsenko was on a working visit to Strasbourg. A number of bilateral meetings with the Deputy Secretary General, the Commissioner for Human Rights and the heads of the Directorate of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe were held.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine took part in the round table with the participation of representatives of the structural units of the General Secretariat of the Council of Europe, members of the Prosecutor's Council and the Qualifications and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors.
Partners discussed the main principles of the PGO transformation, key results of activities in the field of combating corruption and organized crime, as well as the role of the prosecutor in uting the judgements of the European Court of Human Rights.
"Together with the Council of Europe we have launched a series of initiatives aimed at providing the Prosecutor's Office with new too and strategies to increase the efficiency and transparency of their work, as well as the steady observance of human rights," Yurii Lutsenko emphasized.
Partners discussed the results of the investigation of crimes against civil society representatives and journalists, the implementation of the GRECO recommendations, and the successful conduct of an organizational assessment the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine by the consulting company PwC with the assistance of the Council of Europe.
