The delegation of the Prosecutor General's Office, headed by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko, visited Berlin
On December 10-11, 2018, the delegation of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, headed by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko, was on a working visit to Berlin.
During the visit, Yurii Lutsenko held a number of meetings with the leadership of the Federal Chancellery, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Federal Land of Berlin, the Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Ministry of Justice, the German Federal Foreign Office and the Bundestag.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine has focused on calling on international community to condemn the open hostilities of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. "The law enforcement agencies of Ukraine urgently initiated criminal proceedings against the facts of Russian aggression in the Kerch Strait and violations by its representatives of the rights of our sailors," he said.
The Prosecutor's Office Delegation presented key achievements of Ukraine's law enforcement in the fight against corruption, in particular, the prosecution of about 5,300 corruption offenses during two and a half years.
The participants of the meeting discussed the reform of the office in modern European institution and the key steps of such transformation: implementation the Road Map of reforms, an independent organizational assessment of the agency, an open competitive staff selection to the prosecutor's office, and about the ing of the prosecutor's self-government bodies.
Further cooperation was coordinated with German counterparts in combating cybercrime, human trafficking and money laundering.
The foreign side was informed about the completion of the investigation and about the transfer to court the majority of the criminal proceedings against the representatives of the Yanukovych regime. In this context, the ways of returning the assets, a part of which are established in Germany, was discussed separately.
