Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko met with representatives of the Atlantic Council
On August 31, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko met with an American delegation headed by the Director of the Eurasian Center of the Atlantic Council John E. Herbst with the participation of representatives of the Congress and the Senate of the United States.
The Prosecutor General expressed gratitude to the American party for the consistent support of Ukraine and important assistance regarding international cooperation on combating criminality.
Mr. Lutsenko informed the representatives of the Atlantic Council about the successes and challenges in fighting against corruption, outlined the achievements of the Office over the past two years. The Prosecutor General also presented the reforming process of the prosecutor's offices and prospects for the successful completion of judicial reform, the cooperation between the prosecutor's office of Ukraine and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and achieved results in investigation of resonant criminal proceedings, etc.
The representatives of the Atlantic Council thanked the Prosecutor General of Ukraine for the provided substantive information and positively noted the achievements of the Office.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their belief in the further development of cooperation on the principles of transparency and openness.
