Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko took part in the inauguration meeting of the Organizational Committee of the EU project “Support the Rule of Law Reforms in Ukraine” (PRAVO)
On February 27, 2018, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko took part in the inauguration meeting of the Organizational Committee of the EU project “Support the Rule of Law Reforms in Ukraine” (PRAVO).
The abovementioned project is aimed at reforming the law enforcement sector in Ukraine and implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in close cooperation with the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine.
Participants of the event presented a general overview of the Project and provided an opportunity to present their priorities in further cooperation.
During the event, Yurii Lutsenko thanked the EU party for the systematic support of the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office in various areas of the Office's work, in particular, as part of the implementation of the Roadmap for the reform of the Prosecutor's Offices of Ukraine approved in September 2017.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine noted that further reform of the Office is one of its key priorities in 2018. First of all, it is about conducting an independent international audit of the structure of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, introducing clear criteria for work assessing of prosecutors and their specialization, switching to e-document flow and e-case management.
"The Project PRAVO is relevant and timely in the context of the ongoing reform of the law-enforcement system. The use of its capabilities will contribute to the implementation of best international practices in our work and the strengthening of the Rule of Law in Ukraine," said the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
