Prosecutor General of Ukraine held a meeting with the heads of the diplomatic missions of the G7 and the European Union
On March 1, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko met with the ambassadors of the G7 and the European Union in Ukraine at the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
During the meeting, Yurii Lutsenko informed about the main results of the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office in 2017, in particular the replenishment of the State budget of the country within more than 44 billion hryvnias, the detection of more than 9.5 thousand corruption offenses and the conviction of 1,700 corrupt officials.
"We are actively working combatting corruption, but instead of thousands of arrested corrupt officials, new ones will appear, until we eliminate the prerequisites for the existence of corruption schemes ," said the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
The foreign party positively noted the achievements of the department, including in the direction of reforming the prosecutor's office.
In this context, there was emphasized priority to the implementation of the Road Map of reforms, primarily in the introduction of e-document flow and e-case management, quality work assessment of the prosecutors, an independent international audit of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
Representatives of the G7 States have expressed their full support for this process and noted the possibility of deepening cooperation on these issues in the framework of existing and future international technical assistance projects.
