Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko met with the Head of European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine Kęstutis Lančinskas
On April 27, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko held a meeting with the Head of European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine Kęstutis Lančinskas.
During the event, the parties summarized interim results of the implementation of the Roadmap for the reform of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, which was approved at the end of September last year.
In particular, Mr. Lutsenko presented 24 priority areas of work, jointly developed by working groups in each of the four sections of the Roadmap. Among them, in particular, the analysis and preparation of amendments to legislation aimed at increasing the independence of prosecutors, improving the procedure for appointing the Prosecutor General, conducting integrity checks, and developing a communications strategy of the Office.
"We expect the practical implementation of the reached agreements in the near future", - noted Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
The EU party informed that in May will be conducted an independent international IT audit on the functioning of the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, as well as other electronic systems of law enforcement and judicial authorities.
The parties also discussed the creation of a procedural guidance leadership unit in the proceedings of investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations at the Prosecutor General's Office in Ukraine.
