Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko took part in events devoted to interaction between Ukraine and the European Union
On June 4-5, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko took part in the panel discussion on the topic "Relations between Ukraine and the EU: a report on reforms and further steps", as well as in the round-table on the topic "Prosperous Ukraine - Partnership with the EU: Future Strategies, Trade and Investment" within the framework of the visit to Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium).
During the events, the Ukrainian party presented general principles for the reform of the prosecutor's office, the main results of activities in the field of combating corruption and organized crime, as well as ways to improve the business climate in Ukraine, including the reason to attract new foreign investors.
Along with this, European colleagues were informed about need for the reforms on spheres privatization of state-owned enterprises, clearing of the customs and the regulation of access to national resources.
"To fight with corruption in Ukraine, first of all, it is necessary not only focus on the number of corrupt officials brought to justice, but also on the elimination of corruption sources," – noted Mr. Lutsenko.
The parties identified the priority tasks of cooperation, in particular on the need for further support of Ukraine and the establishment of interaction between all the relevant authorities in this area.
