The delegation of the Prosecutor’s Offices of Ukraine held a working visit to the Republic of Latvia
The delegation of the Prosecutor’s Offices of Ukraine headed by Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Anzhela Stryzhevska visited the Republic of Latvia, organized by the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine.
The purpose of that visit, during which was a meeting with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Latvia Ēriks Kalnmeiers, was studying the prosecutors authorities of Latvia, their structure and competence as well as implementing specialization of prosecutors, the system functioning of working quality evaluation, electronic document management etc.
Ukrainian prosecutors got acquainted with the system of training prosecutors and judges at the Latvian judicial training center; the state of introduction to the activities of the prosecution of electronic documents system; the independence of prosecutors from any illegal influence. Along with presentations on of working quality evaluation of prosecutors participants also had the opportunity to learn the basic professional requirements for prosecutor positions in Latvia, the management system of criminal cases in the country and the system of internal audits.
Special interest from the Ukrainian delegation caused supervisory and representation competence of the Latvian colleagues, in particular concerning protection the interests of individuals and the state, representation their interests in court.
Abovementioned visit of the delegation of the Prosecutor’s Offices of Ukraine the Republic of Latvia is another step towards effective cooperation of agency with the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine in the field of rule of law and civil security sector reform.
