Dmytro Storozhuk and Anzhela Stryzhevska met representatives of the Council of Europe in Ukraine
On March 23, 2017, continuing work on the issue of the application of the ECHR practice in the work of prosecutors’ agency, the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Storozhuk and Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Anzhela Stryzhevska held a meeting with representatives of the Council of Europe in Ukraine.
According to Mr. Storozhuk speech, all developments which were achieved during a round table "Current issues of enforcement and application of the European Court of Human Rights practice in the prosecution field" laid out in the statement of agreement with specific dates of performance.
"Among other things we agreed on close cooperation with the competent entities in the field of enforcement of the ECHR Ukrainian legislation changes that will help to prevent violations of the European Convention on Human Rights.
For example, we plan to amend the Articles 127 and 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in order to create an appropriate mechanism to prosecute for torture and eliminating regulations that are mutually exclusive, "- said Dmytro Storozhuk.
