The delegation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine headed by Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko held a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany
On March 28-29, 2017, Mr. Lutsenko held several meetings with senior government officials of Germany, including the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, the Prosecutor General of Berlin Federal State, the Federal Foreign Office and the Bundestag during a working visit to Berlin (the Federal Republic of Germany).
During the meeting there were discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation during execution of active requests for mutual legal assistance and extradition, the prospects for the creation of joint investigative teams.
"Ensuring appropriate level of cooperation with our foreign partners is a priority in the work of the prosecutor's offices" - said Mr. Lutsenko.
Along with this, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine informed the representatives of the foreign party of the main agencies achievements in combating organized criminality and corruption.
"Overcoming these disgraceful events is the key for improving confidence in law enforcement agencies by society and law in the country as a whole", - said Mr. Lutsenko.
Following the meeting the German party expressed support and assistance in reforming Ukrainian prosecutors’ offices including the investigation of actual criminal proceedings.
In addition, it was agreed on the organization of trainings for young Ukrainian prosecutors in the Prosecutor General’s Office of Berlin Federal State on combating terrorism and trafficking.
