The delegation of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine held a working visit to the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg (France)
On February 7, 2017, at the invitation of the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Mr. Мårten Ehnberg, the working visit of the delegation of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and the National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine headed by the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Storozhuk commenced to the headquarters of the Council of Europe.
The event was organized within the framework of the Council of Europe project "Continued Support to the Criminal Justice Reform in Ukraine", which is being implemented with the financial support of the Government of Denmark.
The purpose of the trip is to familiarize its participants with the organization and functioning of the European Court of Human Rights, including the methodology of permanent research and generalization of judicial practice of the said institution, as well as participation in meetings with the representatives of other Council of Europe institutions.
During the visit, they entered into discussions on the issues related to the practices of the European Court of Human Rights in the context of decisions made in the cases regarding Ukraine that concern the prosecution activity from the perspective of application of certain articles of the European Convention on Human Rights.
The said visit of the delegation of the Ukrainian prosecution agencies to the French Republic is a successive step towards fruitful cooperation between the governmental agency and the Council of Europe in the field of rule of law and protection of human rights.
