Ukrainian prosecutors visited Eurojust, Europol and the European Judicial Network
On March 18-21, 2019, Ukrainian prosecutors visited Eurojust, Europol and the European Judicial Network. During this meetings Ukrainian delegation had an opportunity to get acquainted with the European Union experience in the field of international legal cooperation within the framework of pre-trial criminal proceedings.
Ukrainian delegation included: Yevhen Pikalov, the Head of the Department for International Legal Cooperation of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine; Volodymyr Havrylyuk, the Chief Prosecutor of Prosecutor`s Office of Transcarpathian Region; Igor Tsyuprik, the First Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Prosecutor`s Office of Volyn Region; Ruslan Vahitov, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Prosecutor`s Office of Ivano-Frankivsk Region; Halyna Boreiko, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Prosecutor`s Office of Lviv Region; Oleg Pelepyuk, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Prosecutor`s Office of Chernivtsi Region.
During the visit to Europol, the participants discussed issues of international cooperation in the investigation of fraud, money laundering, cybercrime and crimes related to illicit drug trafficking. In addition, the Ukrainian delegation learned about the operational and analytical capabilities of Europol, the ways of interaction between its separate structural units and working groups.
Particular attention was paid to the activities of joint investigation teams, the interaction of the prosecutor's offices with the Prosecutor of Communications for the European Organization for Justice, the state of cooperation and the exchange of information in relevant criminal proceedings.
According to the results of the meetings, the parties expressed confidence in further constructive cooperation.
