A regular working meeting was held with representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court
On June 20, there was a meeting at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine with authorized representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, who were in Ukraine with an annual working visit.
The Deputy Prosecutor General - Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios, representatives of the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office, the Department for Investigation of Crimes Committed in the Temporarily Occupied Territories and the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea participated in the event.
The participants of the meeting discussed materials prepared by the prosecutor's offices for the submitting to the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC within the framework of the last preliminary study of the situation in the East of Ukraine based on the Declaration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated February 4, 2015 "On the recognition of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court by Ukraine over crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by senior officials of the Russian Federation and leaders of terrorist organizations "DNR” and "LNR", which led to extremely grave consequences and mass murder of Ukrainian nationals".
The foreign party outlines the scope and nature of the necessary materials for the preliminary study of the situation in Ukraine.
According to the results of the meeting, the participants identified further steps of cooperation with the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC, paying particular attention to the importance of continuing submitting evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
