Delegation of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine headed by Yurii Lutsenko continues the working visit to the People's Republic of China
On June 27, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko met with the representatives of the Prosecutor's Office of the Shanghai Province of the People's Republic of China.
During the event, the parties discussed the actual issues of combating smuggling, trafficking in human beings, illicit drug trafficking and agrred on further steps regarding strengthening bilateral cooperation and increasing the effectiveness of cooperation in these areas.
"Establishing professional contacts and launching joint activities between the Shanghai Provincial Prosecutor's Office and the Prosecutor's Office of Odesa Region will facilitate the qualifications improvement of the employees of both agencies in investigating the crimes relevant for these regions," – emphasized Mr. Lutsenko.
Along with this, there was agreed on the direct exchange of operational information, including on customs clearance of goods, which will significantly increase the effectiveness of investigating contraband cases.
"A common scheme is the purchase of goods at one price abroad and an indication of a significantly lower price in the Ukrainian customs. Thanks to the agreed mechanism today, we will be able to quickly carry out the appropriate verification of documents and ensure the inevitability of bringing the perpetrators to justice," – noted Prosecutor of Odessa region Oleh Zhuchenko.
The Chinese party supported the position of the Office on deepening of bilateral relations and expressed persuasion of their effectiveness in the future.
