The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office has sent an indictment to the court regarding an official of the Samariivska City Council and a technical supervision engineer of one of the companies for the facts of embezzlement of budget funds and official forgery (parts 4, 5 of Article 191, part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that in September 2023, the deputy head of one of the departments of the Samariivska City Council signed a contract with a controlled company for the reconstruction of four shelters in educational institutions in the city of Samari.

Subsequently, the technical supervision engineer included knowingly false information in the acts of completed works – inflated the cost of the construction materials used and the volume of the work actually performed.

The official, being fully aware of the fictitious nature of the information in the acts, signed them, causing damage to the state in the amount of 6.8 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region, with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine.
