An investigation into a judge of the Mariinsky District Court, which spread pro -Russian narratives and denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, was completed

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General, the pre-trial investigation regarding the judge of the Marinka District Court of Donetsk region has been completed, who is accused of justifying and denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as recognizing the temporary occupation of part of the territory of the state as lawful (part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that in 2022–2024, the accused repeatedly spread pro-Russian narratives through a messenger, calling the aggression of the Russian Federation "lawful" and the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine "legal".

With the consent of the High Council of Justice, a preventive measure in the form of house arrest has been applied to the judge. Additionally, her car, four apartments, and a plot of land have been seized to ensure possible confiscation. 

At the same time, we inform you that court proceedings are ongoing regarding the head of the same district court, who was previously notified of suspicion of committing a crime against the foundations of national security of Ukraine. By the decision of the High Council of Justice, he has been suspended from office and is currently in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigation with operational support from the employees of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation in Kramatorsk.

Note: according to part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
