Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, an official of the automotive service of a military unit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been detained for receiving illegal benefits.

According to the investigation, the official received 10 percent of the cost of automotive parts supplied for the needs of the military unit from a private entrepreneur. The total amount of illegal benefits amounted to 110,000 UAH.

The procurement of parts was carried out within the framework of public procurement procedures to ensure the vehicles used in combat zones.

Law enforcement documented three instances of receiving parts of illegal benefits, particularly in July and September 2025.

On January 2, 2026, during the receipt of another portion of funds, the official was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

He has been informed of the suspicion under part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – receiving illegal benefits by an official holding a responsible position.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigations with operational support from units of the National Police of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
