A resident of Chernihiv Oblast who passed data to the enemy was convicted

Under the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court found a resident of the city of Nizhyn guilty of treason committed in a state of war (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

She was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with the confiscation of all property owned by her.

The prosecutor proved in court that in March 2025, the woman, seeking employment, began communicating on “Telegram” with a representative of the Russian special services. She was offered monetary rewards for carrying out certain tasks.

During the month, the accused traveled twice to the Nizhyn district to confirm the location of a military unit. She recorded the military facility on video using a mobile application that automatically indicates the coordinates, date, and time of the recording. She forwarded the footage to her "curator" via messenger.

While carrying out the next task, the woman set up a mobile phone near the railway with a connected power bank and specially installed applications that allow remote control of the device. This provided the representative of the aggressor state with the ability for continuous real-time surveillance of the railway track and railway cars.

The information obtained was necessary for the enemy to plan further strikes.

The woman was exposed in April 2024.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region with operational support from the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU.
