A Russian official who financed the occupation army was convicted

A Russian official who led the border region of the Russian Federation adjacent to Ukraine — Rostov Oblast — from 2010 to November 2024 systematically provided the Russian army with equipment, ammunition, medications, food, and fuel.

By the official's order, participants of the "SVO," mobilized from the territory of Rostov Oblast, were paid from the Reserve Fund between 150,000 and 600,000 rubles. He personally reported on the implementation of the mobilization plan to the higher leadership of the aggressor state.

Based on the public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, the former governor was sentenced in absentia to 7 years of imprisonment under part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — financing actions aimed at changing the borders of the territory and state border of Ukraine.

The official is also under sanctions from Ukraine and has been included in the sanctions lists of the USA, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

A special pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region.
