A working visit to the Republic of Croatia took place

From September 22 to 26, 2025, employees of the Office of the Prosecutor General participated in a working visit to Croatia dedicated to the topic of overcoming the challenges of reintegration and achieving national cohesion.
The visit was organized by the EU Advisory Mission in close cooperation with the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ukraine, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Parliament, and the State Prosecutor's Office of Croatia. Regional and local authorities, representatives of the European Union, and the EU Advisory Mission also participated in the events.
The program included familiarization with the Croatian model of reintegration of liberated territories after the war, the process of investigating war crimes, legislative and political decisions in the field of reconciliation, the return of internally displaced persons, infrastructure restoration, as well as reforms in the field of justice and internal affairs in the context of Croatia's accession to the EU.
Particular attention was paid to the experience of Croatian institutions in the rehabilitation and social adaptation of war veterans, issues of demining, protection of cultural heritage, the use of European funds, as well as the role of Parliament and Government in implementing reforms.
The visit provided the Ukrainian side with the opportunity to study the practical "lessons" of Croatia, expand international contacts, and initiate cooperation in developing legislative and organizational solutions necessary for the future reintegration of the occupied territories of Ukraine and approaching EU membership.
