A sentence has been passed for an employee of a catering establishment in Vinnytsia, who violated sanitary regulations

The court in Vinnytsia region found an employee of a local catering establishment guilty of violating sanitary norms, which led to mass poisoning (part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The accused fully admitted his guilt, sincerely repented, and completely compensated the victims for the damage caused. Taking into account the mitigating circumstances, the court imposed a punishment of 240 hours of community service.

The prosecutor of the Khmilnytskyi District Prosecutor's Office proved that at the end of June 2025, the man prepared shawarma from products contaminated with salmonella, grossly violating sanitary and hygienic rules.

As a result, 27 visitors, including five minors and four young children, suffered from acute gastrointestinal toxic infection (mild poisoning). The employee was notified of suspicion of violating sanitary rules and norms regarding the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Khmilnytskyi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia region.
