According to the investigation, a resident of Feodosia, after the temporary occupation of the peninsula, remained on its territory. Since February 2025, he has been in pre-trial detention, as he was detained by the "law enforcement" agencies of the Russian Federation on suspicion of murder. To avoid further criminal prosecution, he agreed to sign a contract with the armed forces of the Russian Federation. 

On July 31, 2025, he signed a contract for military service in the motorized rifle regiment of the Russian Armed Forces and received the position of a shooter.

He underwent military training at a training ground near Mariupol, and later in the Bakhmut area in Donetsk region. After training, he fought against the Defense Forces as part of an assault unit in Donetsk region. 

On September 8, 2025, he was captured by Ukrainian defenders. 

Under the procedural guidance of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man has been notified of suspicion of treason and voluntary participation in the armed formations of the aggressor state (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces life imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region. 

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
