Prosecutors of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the trial against a citizen of Ukraine for the treason and illegal handling of explosives (part 2 of Article 111, part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in January 2024, a resident of one of the front-line villages of the Zaporizhzhia region agreed to cooperate with a representative of the Russian special services for a monetary reward. He was recruited through an acquaintance from temporarily occupied Tokmak.

Initially, the man received from the curator tasks related to the identification of bases for Ukrainian servicemen.

Later, he was instructed to arrange on the territory of the city of Zaporizhzhia caches with explosives. For this purpose, the special services of the Russian Federation, with the help of FPV drones, transported components for explosive devices to him, which were dropped at night near his place of residence.

The man was detained while arranging another cache.

A mobile phone with evidence of cooperation with the enemy was seized from him.

He is currently in custody without bail.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine Department in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
