A man who is suspected of spreading child pornography was detained in Poland: Ukrainian children are among the victims

Within the framework of international legal cooperation, law enforcement officers from Ukraine, Poland, Europol, and AP Twins have detained a 57-year-old citizen of the Republic of Poland, who is suspected of distributing child pornography. Among the victims are children from Ukraine aged 7 to 11 years.

The criminal proceedings were initiated by law enforcement in Kyiv based on materials from the Department of Migration Police of the National Police of Ukraine. The parents of two children reported that an unknown man was communicating with their 11-year-old daughters through social networks and sending them pornographic content.

The investigation into the production and distribution of child pornography (part 3 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was conducted by investigators from the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office. The operational support was provided by the Department of Migration Police. The collected evidence led to Poland.

Based on the materials provided by the Ukrainian side, Polish law enforcement officers detained the suspect—a philologist by education, who is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, which allowed him to communicate freely with Ukrainian children. The man was convinced that by choosing victims in other countries, he would remain undetected.

During a search, Polish law enforcement officers seized computers, mobile phones, and digital media containing evidence of the sexual exploitation of minors.

In Poland, the man has been charged with distributing child pornography and pornography involving animals through social networks. He is also accused of possessing pornographic video materials depicting children. He has been taken into custody.

The crime was uncovered thanks to effective international cooperation in combating online exploitation of children.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
