Prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office sent an indictment to trial against the former managers of the municipal company of one of the maternity hospitals in Kyiv. They are accused of embezzling budget funds allocated for the payment of wages, for a total amount of more than UAH 4.5 million.

The investigation established that in 2021–2022, the accused, along with other officials, registered "employees" who had never actually worked at the municipal company. The wages accrued to them were transferred to the cards of persons who were under the control of the accused. As a result of this scheme, the budget suffered damages of more than UAH 4.5 million.

The accused were charged with embezzlement of property in particularly large amounts by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, assistance in the legalization of property obtained through criminal means, as well as drawing up knowingly false official documents and entering knowingly false information into them (part 5 of Art. 191, part 5 of Art. 27, part 2 of Art. 209, part 2 of Art. 28, part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine under the operational support of the Main Department of the State Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

Within the framework of the same proceedings, indictments against two more officials of the enterprise, namely the head of the personnel department and the accountant of the enterprise, have already been sent to trial.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
