Will judge two Inspectors of Transcarpathian Customs, who planned illegally to ship the military to Hungary for $ 8,000

Prosecutors of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office have approved and sent to court an indictment against two customs service inspectors who organized the illegal transportation of a man across the state border of Ukraine.

According to the investigation materials, the entire operation was organized by an inspector from the Transcarpathian customs. For 8,000 USD, he offered to arrange the illegal escape of a Kyiv resident to Hungary. He was assisted in this by a colleague and another civilian accomplice.

According to the plan, the conscripted Kyiv resident arrived in Transcarpathia by train. After some time, one of the suspects transported him to the state border line. Following the instructions, the Kyiv resident was supposed to walk to Hungary through a forest strip outside the official border crossing points. Law enforcement officers detained the customs inspectors and their accomplice-driver after handing them the previously agreed amount

The actions of the customs inspectors and the accomplice-driver are classified, depending on the committed act, as illegal transportation across the border, committed by a group of individuals in collusion for selfish motives (part 2, 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The suspects have been taken into custody by the investigating judge of the Uzhhorod City District Court with alternatives to bail.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the TDBR in Lviv, with operational support and detention by the State Border Guard Service.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
