The Court has completed the defendant's interrogation in the Maxim Maerukhin murder case

Today, a regular hearing took place at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv in the case against former employee of the State Guard Administration Artem Kosov, accused of the intentional murder of the minor Maksym Materukhin at the upper station of the Kyiv funicular in April 2024. Today, the court completed the interrogation of the accused Kosov.

During the hearing, the Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko participated in the interrogation of the accused and posed a number of questions regarding the circumstances of that evening.

“It was an emotionally challenging interrogation. At times, his words contradicted previous testimonies. Our conclusion is that he is trying to mislead the court just as, in our opinion, he misled the pre-trial investigation,” - noted Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

Kosov systematically changed his testimony or refused to answer the questions posed: “For example, in the video from the police body cameras, he clearly stated that he 'decided to make a throw over the thigh.' Today, however, he suddenly claimed that he supposedly fell accidentally along with Maksym,” - noted the Prosecutor General.

As a result of the hearing, the court completed the interrogation. In addition, the court granted the prosecution's request for a comprehensive forensic medical traceological examination and instructed the State Bureau of Investigation to conduct another investigative experiment with the accused.

The next stages of the hearing will involve reviewing the results of the experiment and the examination, as well as the debate stage.

Recall that during the yesterday's court session, the court examined the evidence in full.
