Through the efforts of prosecutors from the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Western Region, 7 hectares of border land near the "Rava-Ruska" checkpoint in Lviv region have been returned to state ownership through the court.

The plot, valued at over 60 million hryvnias, belongs to the border zone, where a special usage regime has been established to ensure the country's defense capability in wartime conditions.

However, based on a court decision, contrary to the legislation, the land was transferred to individuals and then to a business entity. At the same time, its intended use was changed from defense to agricultural.

Prosecutors achieved the annulment of such an illegal decision through the court and the return of the land to the State Border Guard Service.

As a result, the strategic border land will again be used for its intended purpose in the interests of national security.
