A resident of the city of Kalynivka in Vinnytsia region has been notified of suspicion of violating sanitary rules and norms regarding the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings (Part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the man violated the requirements of sanitary legislation and prepared shawarma in violation of sanitary and hygienic standards, containing Salmonella Enteritidis. As a result of his negligence, 10 children and 19 adults ended up in hospital beds.

During a search of the food establishment, meat products without labeling and documentation were discovered and seized, as well as other products that are undergoing microbiological testing.

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.

Under the procedural guidance of the Khmilnytskyi District Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the investigative department of the first division of the Khmilnytskyi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
