Prosecutors of Luhansk region continue their work to identify collaborators

Under the procedural guidance of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a suspicion has been reported against a resident of Starobilsk. He is accused of voluntarily taking a position in an illegal law enforcement agency established in the temporarily occupied territory (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It has been established that the suspect became an "inspector of road supervision of the state traffic safety inspection department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation 'Novopskovsky' in the fall of 2024. He is engaged in patrolling roads, checking vehicles and driver documents, and issuing fines for traffic violations.

Prosecutors have also sent the case to court against a resident of Dovzhansk, who in the summer of 2023 submitted his candidacy to participate in the "elections of deputies of the People's Council of the LPR of the first convocation and the elections of deputies of representative bodies of local self-government of the LPR of the first convocation." He is a representative of the hostile political party "United Russia."

As a result of the illegal elections, the accused was elected as a "deputy of the council of the municipal formation of the Sverdlovsk municipal district of the LPR of the first convocation." Subsequently, he participated in the meetings of the pseudo-body and voted for the adoption of so-called "laws" in the territory of the temporarily occupied settlement in Luhansk region, thereby contributing to the establishment and functioning of the occupying authority of the aggressor state and ensuring control over local processes.

His actions have been qualified as collaborative activity (part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Each fact of cooperation with the enemy is documented and receives a legal assessment. Investigations are ongoing.

The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by employees of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
