Prosecutors of the Bucha District Prosecutor's Office have notified the director of the company of suspicion of official forgery (part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and embezzlement of budget funds in particularly large amounts (part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It has been established that the contractor decided to illegally appropriate part of the funds allocated by the Makariv local community for the restoration of residential buildings damaged as a result of Russian aggression. During August–September 2023, the head of the contracting company compiled and issued acts of completed works, indicating works that were not actually performed during the repair of the roof of a multi-apartment building damaged as a result of shelling. 

Based on the forged acts, the company transferred over 1.1 million UAH of budget funds, which were illegally appropriated by the suspect. 

The prosecutor's office initiated the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Bucha District Police Department, Unit No. 3.
