The forest, which was used for years without contracts and control, was returned to the state

This concerns over 160 hectares of forest land in the Myrhorod district of Poltava region, which in 2006 were leased by the Velykobahachansky District State Administration to a private company for a symbolic fee ranging from 6 to 42 hryvnias per year. However, the tenant did not pay even this amount and used the forest for years without charge, without documents, care, or any control. Instead, trees were systematically cut down illegally in the forest.

Due to systematic violations, including mismanagement of the forest and the absence of cadastral data, prosecutors filed a lawsuit in court to terminate the lease agreement and return the forest to the state. In addition, the prosecutors obliged the relevant state authorities to prepare the necessary documentation for the forest areas.

Currently, following the lawsuit of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office, the lands have been entered into the State Land Cadastre, and ownership has been registered to the Poltava Regional Military Administration, which is preparing to transfer these plots for permanent use to the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".
