According to the investigation, in November 2020, funds were allocated from the regional budget for the construction of an outpatient clinic in one of the villages of the Stryi district.

According to the contract, the work was to be carried out by a contracting company.

As a result of the completed work, the director of the general contractor company submitted false information in the acts of completed work and certified them with the company’s seal.

The official documents indicated work that had not actually been performed, and the volume of materials used did not correspond to reality. In addition, data was included about the purchase and installation of equipment, including medical equipment, which was actually absent.

Subsequently, the documents with false information were submitted by the director to the Department of Capital Construction of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

As a result, over 1 million UAH was unjustifiably transferred to the contractor's account.

Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the director of the company was notified of suspicion of misappropriating someone else's property by abusing his official position and official forgery of documents (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigative actions are ongoing regarding other individuals involved in the illegal activities.

Pre-trial investigation – Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region, operational support – SBU Department in the Lviv Region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
