Under the procedural guidance of the Bilocherkiv District Prosecutor's Office, an indictment has been sent to the Bilocherkiv City District Court of Kyiv Region against a 59-year-old resident of Bilocherkivshchyna for the fact of cruel treatment of animals (part 1 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on September 22, 2025, in one of the villages of the Bilocherkiv District, a man hung his dog on a metal gate, resulting in the animal's death by asphyxiation.

The man faces punishment in the form of restriction of liberty for a term of one to three years or imprisonment for a term of two to three years.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
