Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region, a serviceman has been exposed and notified of suspicion for treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in November 2025, the suspect was recruited by an unidentified employee of the special services of the aggressor country. For a monetary reward, he agreed to provide him with military information, the disclosure of which harms the defense capability and state security of Ukraine.

Communication took place via the messenger "Telegram." Due to limited access to necessary information, the suspect involved a fellow serviceman in his illegal activities. The man immediately reported to law enforcement agencies and subsequently acted under their control. 

In January 2026, the suspect provided a representative of the Russian special services with information about the personnel strength of the military unit in which he served. In February 2026, he sent photographs of the engineering setup of a bridge crossing in one of the settlements of the Odesa region.

After this, he was detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Currently, the court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without the possibility of bail. 

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region, with operational support from the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
