Shelling of Kherson region on October 16: 12 wounded, one dead

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office of the Kherson region, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the commission of war crimes (Part 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). 

According to the investigation, on October 16, 2025, the Russian army shelled settlements in the Kherson region using aviation, artillery, and drones.   

As of 5:30 PM on October 16, 2025, it was known that as a result of Russian aggression, one man had died, and 12 people were injured, including two police officers. 

In Kherson, around 3:00 PM, a 29-year-old man sustained injuries incompatible with life. He was caught in the impact zone of a shell dropped by the enemy from a drone. 

Additionally, throughout the day in the regional center, nine more people, including two police officers, were injured to varying degrees due to artillery shelling and drone attacks. 

In Zelenivka, the occupiers directed an FPV drone at a civilian vehicle, injuring two civilians. 

Another victim was injured in Beryslav as a result of artillery shelling.

Prosecutors, together with investigators, continue to document the consequences of the shelling and the war crimes committed by the armed formations of the aggressor state.
