Night attacks of the Russian Federation: prosecutors document the destruction in Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv region

On the night of October 2 to 3, 2025, Russian troops struck Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions, damaging residential buildings, energy infrastructure, and other facilities. The prosecutor's office has initiated criminal proceedings regarding war crimes, documenting the consequences of the attacks.

Poltava Region 

Russian troops carried out a missile and drone strike on Poltava, Poltava, and Myrhorod districts, using UAVs "Geran-2" and "Kh-35" missiles. Private households, energy infrastructure facilities, and premises of a correctional institution were damaged. There are no casualties, and the number of damaged buildings is being clarified. 

Currently, under the procedural guidance of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Security Service of Ukraine in the Poltava region has initiated a pre-trial investigation in 9 criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (committing a war crime). 

Dnipropetrovsk Region

The enemy also attacked the Dnipro district with drones, damaging private houses and vehicles. In the Shakhtarsk community of the Synelnykove district, a five-story residential building was affected. In Nikopol, strikes from an FPV drone and artillery shelling were recorded in the Marhanets community. 

Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding war crimes (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Kharkiv Region

According to the investigation, as a result of an attack by enemy strike drones on the night of October 3, a large fire broke out at an agricultural firm in the Novodolazka community — buildings for livestock were burning. About 13,000 pigs died.

An employee of the mentioned enterprise was also injured. 

Preliminary data indicates that the enemy used 10 UAVs of the "Geran-2" type.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the commission of a war crime (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
