Prosecutors of the District Prosecutor's Office of Chernivtsi, together with the police, uncovered illegal construction on lands of communal and state ownership, including areas of the nature reserve fund.

It has been established that the property belongs to a former head of the State Fiscal Service in the Chernivtsi region.

The former official constructed a building, with an area of about 600 m², without the necessary permits, unlawfully seizing land plots from the communal reserve of the city of Chernivtsi and part of the land from the nature reserve fund, which is in permanent use by the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".

He has been notified of suspicion under Part 3, Part 4 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Chernivtsi District Police Department.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
