A foreigner who worked for enemy intelligence was exposed in Khmelnytskyi

Prosecutors of Khmelnytskyi region have reported suspicion against a 54-year-old citizen of the Republic of Turkey under Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2 of Article 113, and Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — preparation for sabotage and unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In October 2025, the man agreed to cooperate with representatives of foreign intelligence for a monetary reward. Through “Telegram,” he transmitted photo and video materials from checkpoints, energy infrastructure facilities in the Khmelnytskyi region, as well as one of the industrial enterprises in a neighboring region. He received payment in cryptocurrency through his own crypto wallet.

He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The suspect has been placed in custody without the possibility of bail.

Pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators with operational support from the counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
