Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, a scheme has been uncovered through which over 230 hectares of land belonging to a state enterprise were illegally transferred to private ownership.

According to the investigation materials, during the inventory, officials from the regional State Geocadastre office did not account for 500 hectares of land in the technical documentation. Subsequently, part of these plots, totaling over 230 hectares, were classified as "reserve" land and transferred under the procedure of free privatization to individuals who quickly alienated them to final purchasers.

As a result of these actions, the state suffered losses amounting to 25 million UAH.

Prosecutors have notified the former head and the head of the department of the regional State Geocadastre office, as well as the former head of the state enterprise, of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (seizure of property in especially large amounts by prior conspiracy of a group of persons).  Additionally, the former Head of the State Geocadastre of Ukraine received a suspicion of official negligence under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for unjustifiably approving the conclusion of mandatory state expertise of land management documentation without reflecting discrepancies in the areas of land plots that were actually in use by the state enterprise and formed as a result of the inventory.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support are being carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR).
