In Cherkasy region, a honored worker of education of Ukraine, who justified and denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, was exposed

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a former head of the department of Cherkasy National University named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky has been notified of suspicion for justifying, recognizing as legitimate, and denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (parts 1 and 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the individual expressed pro-Russian views during conversations with friends throughout 2023, commented on the closure of Russian-speaking schools, and admired the successes of the occupying authorities in the city of Henichesk, Kherson region.
The woman claimed that Russia is not at war with Ukraine but is defending its own security, spoke about the existence of "biolaboratories" on the territory of Ukraine, and actively spread narratives of Russian propaganda.
The suspect holds the academic title of professor and is a Doctor of Philological Sciences. She has the title of "Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine."
The issue of applying a preventive measure is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support in the criminal proceedings are provided by the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
For reference: the sanction of part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment of 5 to 8 years of imprisonment with or without confiscation of property.
