Within the framework of the program to expose illegal actions of military officials “The Other Side of the TCC and VLC”, a former head of one of the departments of the RTC and SP in the Chernivtsi region has been exposed.

According to the investigation, while in office, the suspect ensured the entry of false information about 76 conscripts into the state register “Oberih” for several months.

The register contained data indicating that these citizens were allegedly mobilized, removed from the records, or already assigned to specific military units. In reality, however, the men did not serve, and no one accounted for them in the unit lists.

This scheme allowed for an artificial inflation of the mobilization plan performance indicators, while 76 individuals evaded service.

Under the procedural guidance of the Chernivtsi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Western region, the former official has been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under parts 1 and 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized actions with information in automated systems, committed by a person with access rights, which caused severe consequences). The court has chosen a preventive measure for him.

Investigative actions are ongoing, and the full circle of involved persons is being established, as well as verifying information about possible similar facts.

The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Chernivtsi region, based on materials and operational support from the UCR in the Chernivtsi region of the DSR of the National Police and the DCR of the SBU.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
