In Volyn, illegal actions of the director of a state enterprise, a deputy of the regional council, have been uncovered, causing material damage to the state enterprise of over one million hryvnias. 

The head of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office, Maksym Rohovenko, informed the official of the suspicion of official negligence that caused severe consequences for state interests (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It has been established that as a result of procurements, two contracts for the supply of diesel fuel were concluded between the state enterprise and a limited liability company.

Subsequently, the official signed additional agreements to the contracts, according to which the price of the goods unjustifiably increased.

Due to the illegal actions of the director, the enterprise paid over one million hryvnias more for the fuel than was stipulated in the contracts.

The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect and imposing a seizure on his property is being resolved.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
