On the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court found a 39-year-old resident of Chernivtsi guilty of participating in the illegal circulation of excise goods (Part 2 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 204, Part 2 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to a real punishment — 3 years of imprisonment.

Prosecutors proved the man's involvement in the illegal production and sale of counterfeit fuel as part of an organized criminal group. His three accomplices have already been convicted.

It was established that low-quality fuel was sold through a network of gas stations in Chernivtsi and neighboring regions.

The counterfeit fuel was produced directly during transportation — in tankers, after which it was sold as high-quality fuel.

From December 2023 to November 2024, about 300 thousand liters of fuel were introduced into illegal circulation.

Until the sentence takes effect, the man will remain in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Chernivtsi region with operational support from the Criminal Investigation Department in Chernivtsi region.
